My Lunch Bunny

I sit outside most days to eat my lunch and am often joined by this little one. I sit quietly and wait. I am learning to slow down and really enjoy my food. To savour each bite and breathe. Working in healthcare I am so glad that our hospital has prereserved these open spots where we can enjoy a little bit of nature during a hectic day. More and more I am finding that I need these breaks from being around people.

I enjoy my job emensley, but in order to fill my cup I need silence. I have turned off social media on my phone and try to be more present.

In a world that can literally be on 24/7 I am giving the day a chance to let me take time to ask what I really need. Not what I want or wish for; but what I really need. So often the answer is “I’m not sure” and that is OK. Other times it is clear as crystal. If we are always on we may miss that.

So I encourage you to find your own lunch bunny or what ever creature joins you and take in your surroundings. Have a sense of wonder about the day and fill up on the gifts of Nature.
